Marc by Marc Jacobs is a brand I am very fond of. I have quite a few of his bags, a couple of his watches, a laptop case, an iPhone case and even a couple of jewellery pieces! The Marc by Marc Jacobs show is the one I look forward to the most during New York Fashion Week! About 10 minutes ago, Marc sent his new Spring/Summer 2014 collection down the runway and although I wasn’t in New York at the show, I watched it live online. Fashionably late as always (40 minutes this time), the room was full of celebs, bloggers, journalists and press, all anticipating the new designs from the brand.
I was a little disappointed I have to say. I can’t sit here and deny it and praise the collection to high heavens because I honestly didn’t like it that much. In comparison to other seasons which I have adored from Marc by Marc Jacobs, this season seemed a little lackluster and lazy. I wasn’t fond of the baggy trousers that kept cropping up and the overall styling. There were a few pieces though that caught my eye! A couple of the coats, some of the sequins and I adored the metallics! The high tops that everyone wore this time around were also pretty. There were no high heels in sight! I’m sure that’s a blessing to the models who have been wearing them each show!
I was hoping to see some of the bags like we usually get to see during the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway shows, but he only sent a few down the aisle and those were held by the male models. You can see my favourite looks from the show in the gallery below and you can watch the show recorded on the Marc Jacobs website here.
