In the spirit of its beachwear collections, ERES has unveiled its new ‘Sunwear’ wardrobe, to be worn by day or by night – from Goa to Ibiza, Buzios to Punte del Este. The campaign for this new line was shot by Karl Lagerfeld, with spellbinding actress Bérénice Marlohe, heroine of the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, as his muse.
The new collection is all about sophistication and understated luxury. ‘Sunwear’ uses simple, clean lines and rich, vibrant colours, evoking images of distant shores. The collection aims to appeal to women who revel in their freedom, for whom travel is a real way of life.
Valérie Delafosse, Artistic Director at ERES says “I saw the world as a pool of ideas and I went off in search of these universal style motifs, blending East and West, in a bid to crystallise these ideas into a collection reminiscent of a timeless vision of a Distant World. The idea was to convey our “Freedom of Body” philosophy with aerial and graphic creations”.
The collection comprises a silk kaftan with beautiful print and embroidered finishes; sarouel pants in ultra-lightweight silk; a silk and cotton velvet towelling robe with trim; a sarouel jumpsuit with wing sleeves; a parasol skirt-dress embroidered with copper sequins, pearls and rafia; colour-block kimonos in shades of fuchsia and orange or ultramarine blue; and a silk muslin dress, embroidered with pearls and threads of brightly-coloured cotton. All of the pieces are designed to be mixed and matched with colours from the 2013 Spring/Summer swimsuit collection, for an elegant and effortless transition from beach to cocktail bar.
