Winter: the worst time of year for most people’s faces, hands, feet, and hair. Basically, it’s a head-to-toe fight, where we battle things like dry, cracked knuckles, frizzy hair, and dry – then oily – skin. It can be a challenge just to get through the day and keep your look intact. With that in mind, there are some things you can do that will help. They won’t solve the problems, only moving to warmer climates will do that! But they can make the entire winter go by a little more smoothly, and they can help you feel better about yourself in the meantime.

Everyone gets dry skin during the winter, even babies. Moisturizer and petroleum jelly can help, of course, and some people may only need that bit. For those of us who suffer from very dry skin, however, nothing beats body oil! And the same goes for unmanageable hair – a bit of high-quality argon oil can work wonders to correct your hairstyle. If you don’t have any on hand, you can even make your own! Classic combinations like milk and honey, or simple olive oil and a few drops of essential oils can turn your bath from daily routine into a pampering spa day.

Moisturizer is key, of course, but it’s equally important to treat your skin gently. When you get out of the bath after taking the time to coddle your skin, the last thing you want to do is immediately rip at it with an old, rough towel. You might be looking around for a bath treatment, but you should also keep an eye out for a way to get the best bath towels – which as usually spa quality. They’ll be the perfect end to a perfect bath, and it will help keep that moisture in, instead of just scraping it all off!
