Favourite summer 2015 topic: gladiator sandals, boho mood: ON
It seems that the gladiator trend this year is stronger that ever. It didn’t quite succeed some years ago, but…this season, they own! Most of the brands introduced their designs, with Chloé, Valentino, Aquazzura and Ancient Greek Sandals being my favourites. I guess it is really important with the trends, that the variety, that is eventually created, fits every single style and personality, and different pieces underline different characters and mood.
Now, I absolutely adore high-lace-up sandals, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted “half” my legs covered up, and I also wanted to wear them with jeans and skinny or cropped trousers; so I went with ankle high gladiator sandals from KG by Kurt Geiger. They are in black suede with rose golden zipper and details around the tie holes.
I styled them with a total-short black outfit because the shoe design makes the bottom of the outfit a bit “transparent” and not as heavy as a solid black pair of ankle boots or espadrilles would do! I am looking forward to cooler weather, in order to wear them with a scuba pencil black skirt, but for now I love styling them with culottes; especially the textured pair I got from Operà.
Major plus in the DO list: knee high lace-up sandals covered a little bit by a pair of culottes, or a dress or a skirt as well as styling them with a total denim look!
